Rusty Brown is a co-founder of Health Futures Australia (HFA) – a social enterprise with the mission of mobilising a systemic change approach to health and wellbeing and the prevention of chronic disease.
Russell and Geoff are key partners in HFA which is already working to support GREATER Bendigo, an initiative sponsored by Bendigo Health to mobilise a community driven platform to prevent obesity. In addition, HFA has been working with the enliven team on the early design of a possible long-term platform for systemic change to reverse obesity.
Russell and Geoff are part of a team, experienced in stewarding a range of innovative initiatives on complex problem solving around the world. One such initiative is the world’s first and largest whole of system intervention to tackle obesity – Healthy Together Victoria (HTV). This policy effort comprised a whole of state innovation and an embedded complex community-level experiment with 14 local government areas reaching over 25% of Victoria’s and 5% of Australia’s population, 1.25 million Victorians. We have also worked on global and national “system” change initiatives ranging from sustainable food labs, ocean labs, to Aboriginal health, and a range of country-level future scenario design.
